Course Description: This training is geared toward providers seeking to increase their understanding of how to effectively treat Anxiety Disorders. An overview of multiple evidence-based treatment modalities will be provided, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Participants will learn strategies for weaving these skills into their current therapeutic approach, including the application of these techniques when working with minors.

  1. Describe therapeutic techniques used in the evidence-based treatment of anxiety disorders.
  2. Design effective treatment plans based on the client’s presenting concerns.
  3. Discuss the application of these techniques with minors and their caregivers.

Instructor Bio(s):

Dr. Jaimee Arnoff

Jaimee is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience with both assessment and therapy with a focus on high-risk children and adolescents with internalizing disorders in multiple hospital-based settings, community-based outpatient mental health clinics, and residential treatment centers.

With a certification in Pain Reprocessing Therapy, she has expanded her private practice to also include clients with chronic pain. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Deaf Studies and her Ph.D. from Gallaudet University, Jaimee is fluent in American Sign Language and has experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and their families, as well.

As the psychologist at James’s Warriors, a local not-for-profit organization, she has developed and delivered presentations on Teen Mental Health and Suicide Prevention in high schools and colleges throughout New York. Jaimee enjoys teaching and providing clinical supervision and hopes to continue mentoring other young psychologists like herself in her community and beyond!
