Course Description: This 2-hour live continuing education event explores practical, clinically grounded strategies for supporting adults with ADHD in improving focus, organization, and emotional regulation.
Led by Joel Kouame, LCSW, the session will examine how ADHD presents in adulthood, including challenges with task initiation, time management, impulsivity, emotional reactivity, and follow-through.
Participants will learn actionable tools for helping clients build sustainable systems, strengthen self-awareness, reduce shame, and manage daily responsibilities more effectively. The course will also highlight strengths-based and neurodivergent-affirming approaches that clinicians can use to support adult clients in creating meaningful, realistic change.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify common ways ADHD presents in adults, including challenges related to focus, organization, task initiation, emotional regulation, and follow-through.
- Apply practical strategies to help adult clients with ADHD improve time management, planning, prioritization, and daily organization.
- Develop strengths-based, neurodivergent-affirming interventions to support emotional regulation, reduce shame, and increase client self-efficacy.
