1) Key Hawaii Social Work Licensure Renewal Dates
The next renewal date is June 30th, 2025 (Renew on or before June 29th, 2025)
- All licenses expire on June 30, 2025 including BSW, LSW, and LCSW
- You will receive a renewal notice in the mail from the Dept. of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA). The renewal notice will be sent to the address the Department has on file for you.

- A first-time licensee is exempt from the CE requirement for the first license renewal
- All Social Worker (LBSW, LSW) licensees on an “active” status and all (LCSW) licensees must have completed at least 45 hours of Continuing Education (CE) credits that have been approved by the NASW or the ASWB; 3 credit hours shall be in ethics courses. prior to renewing their license pursuant to HRS §467E-11 (source)
- All licenses regardless of issuance date, are subject to renewal triennial by June 30, every three (3) years, (2025, 2028, 2031)
- Renewals accepted: May 1, 2025 to June 30, 2025

- Licenses not renewed by license expiration date are unlicensed and may not practice.
