Course Description
Explore harm reduction strategies in substance abuse treatment, focusing on clinical interventions, ethical considerations, and policy implications.
Learning Method: Recorded asynchronous distance (non-interactive). This course includes a recorded video and access to the presented resources.
Amount of CE Credit Offered: 1 General CE Credit. ASWB ACE and NBCC.
Fees: This course can be purchased individually for $25.00 or as part of an annual unlimited continuing education subscription available for $75/year.
Posttest: Following the course, the participant will take a 10 question posttest. A score of 70% correct is required to pass and obtain a certificate. If you do not pass the posttest, it can be re-taken after fully reviewing the materials again.
Certificate of Completion: In order to receive a certificate of completion, you must indicate that you've watched the entire video portion of the course, earn a passing grade on the test, and complete the requested course evaluation.

Lauren Dennelly
Dr. Lauren Dennelly, PhD, LCSW (she/her), is a dedicated social work practitioner, scholar, and educator with over 15 years of experience in clinical practice, research, and teaching. With a PhD in Social Work and Social Research, she specializes in behavioral health integration, healthcare ethics, mental health equity, and the impact of physician burnout, particularly among female physicians. Dr. Dennelly has extensive experience working in primary care settings as a behavioral health specialist and currently maintains a private practice with a feminist-oriented approach to treatment. She is also a clinical supervision provider for LCSW hours in Pennsylvania, offering guidance and support to emerging social workers. A prolific writer and researcher, Dr. Dennelly has published in leading social work journals and contributes to Psychology Today with a blog focused on the mental health of women and girls. She is a continuing education provider for Continued.com and is currently authoring a book on parentification with New Harbinger Publications. Her work bridges the gap between academia and practice, advocating for ethical, client-centered care and systemic improvements in behavioral health. Licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, she continues to shape the field through her research, writing, and clinical expertise.
