Course Description
Explore medical social work roles, crisis intervention, psychosocial assessment, discharge planning, teamwork, documentation, and ethics.
Learning Method: Recorded asynchronous distance (non-interactive). This course includes a recorded video and access to the presented resources.
Amount of CE Credit Offered: 1 General CE Credit. ASWB ACE and NBCC.
Fees: This course can be purchased individually for $25.00 or as part of an annual unlimited continuing education subscription available for $99/year.
Posttest: Following the course, the participant will take a 10 question posttest. A score of 70% correct is required to pass and obtain a certificate. If you do not pass the posttest, it can be re-taken after fully reviewing the materials again.
Certificate of Completion: In order to receive a certificate of completion, you must indicate that you've watched the entire video portion of the course, earn a passing grade on the test, and complete the requested course evaluation.

Maeve McMahon
Maeve is a medical social worker with experience across emergency, inpatient, pediatric behavioral health, and community-based settings. She currently serves as an Emergency Department Medical Social Worker at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Previously, Maeve worked as an inpatient social worker at MetroHealth and as a Pediatric Behavioral Health Social Worker at Cleveland Clinic, where she supported children and adolescents experiencing depression, suicidal ideation, and other complex behavioral health needs. Her background also includes crisis intervention, case management, community resource coordination, and services for homeless and high-risk youth. Maeve earned her Master of Science in Social Administration with a concentration in Children and Family Services from Case Western Reserve University and holds both Licensed Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Social Worker credentials.
