Amount of CE Credit Offered: 1 ethics credit for both ASWB ACE and NBCC.

Course Description: Mental health professionals will explore how to ethically and effectively engage youth clients in telehealth, including how to assess fit, protect privacy, plan for safety, and maintain appropriate clinical boundaries. Participants will also learn practical strategies for building real connection online through developmentally appropriate tools, collaborative session structures, movement breaks, and youth-centered engagement techniques.
Learning Objectives:
- Assess when telehealth is clinically appropriate for youth clients based on client needs, safety concerns, developmental factors, privacy, and engagement capacity.
- Apply ethical telehealth practices related to confidentiality, informed consent, boundaries, safety planning, documentation, and licensing considerations.
- Implement developmentally appropriate engagement strategies that help youth clients build connection, participate actively, and remain regulated during virtual sessions.
