About The Live CE Event

Learning Method: Synchronous distance (interactive). Attendees will also get access to a recorded video and the presented resources.
Amount of CE Credit Offered: 3 General CE credits for both ASWB ACE and NBCC.

Certificate of Completion: To receive a certificate of completion, you must attend the entire live event.
Course Description: This 3-hour continuing education course helps mental health professionals build greater confidence and competence when facilitating therapeutic groups.
Participants will explore practical strategies for creating safety, encouraging engagement, managing conflict, and responding to challenging group dynamics. The course will also address ethical considerations, boundaries, and the clinician’s role in supporting meaningful group interaction.
Attendees will leave with concrete tools they can apply across a variety of clinical settings and group formats.

Identify core facilitation skills that support safety, engagement, and therapeutic effectiveness in group settings.
Apply strategies for managing common group dynamics, including conflict, silence, monopolizing behaviors, and uneven participation.
Demonstrate ethical decision-making related to boundaries, confidentiality, group structure, and the clinician’s role in therapeutic groups.
