Amount of CE Credit Offered: 3 credits for both ASWB ACE and NBCC.

Course Description: This live event equips Social Workers, Counselors, and Therapists with practical strategies for supporting youth impacted by parental mental illness. Participants will explore how parental mental health challenges can affect a child’s emotional development, attachment patterns, sense of safety, caregiving roles, and family dynamics. The course emphasizes trauma-informed, developmentally responsive, and strengths-based interventions that help clinicians support resilience, improve communication, and create more stability for youth and families.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the emotional, behavioral, developmental, and relational impacts of parental mental illness on youth and family functioning.
- Apply trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate interventions to support youth affected by parental mental illness.
- Develop clinical strategies to strengthen resilience, safety, communication, and support systems for youth and families navigating parental mental health challenges.
