  1. From Stress to Strength: Burnout Prevention & Self-Care for Social Work Wellness

    A course designed to empower social workers with the knowledge and tools to prevent burnout and thrive in their demanding roles. Through understanding the causes and signs of burnout, participants will learn resilience-building strategies and practical stress management techniques. This course offers a step-by-step approach to creating personalized self-care plans, ensuring that social workers can maintain their well-being and continue to make a positive impact in the lives of those they serve.   2. Organizational Wellbeing and Burnout

    This comprehensive continuing education course delves deep into the crucial topics of organizational wellness and burnout, tailored specifically for social workers.

    Participants will embark on an exploration of the nuanced differences between burnout, languishing, and thriving. They’ll gain insights into identifying and responding to these states both in themselves and their colleagues. Central to the course is a detailed examination of organizational support tools, including the distinctive roles of Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and life coaching services. Attendees will master the art of conflict resolution at the organizational level, learning how to mediate disputes effectively and enhancing team dynamics. The course also champions the pivotal role of emotional intelligence in the workplace, underscoring its significance in promoting the use of mental health services and preventing burnout.

  3. Vicarious Trauma – Preventing Burnout in the Workplace

    This course aims to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the effects of vicarious trauma on the mental health and well-being of social workers, and to equip them with the knowledge and skills to prevent burnout in their workplace.

    The course will cover a range of topics, including the definition and symptoms of vicarious trauma, the impact of vicarious trauma on the social work profession, and strategies for self-care and self-awareness to prevent burnout. It will also provide participants with practical tools and techniques to manage stress and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Learning Method: Record asynchronous distance (non-interactive). These courses include a recorded video and access to the presented resources.

Amount of CE Credit Offered: 3 credits (general)

Fees: This bundle of 3 courses can be purchased individually for $50 or as part of an annual unlimited continuing education subscription available for $99/year.

Posttest: Following each course, the participant will take a 10 question posttest. A score of 70% correct is required to pass and obtain a certificate. If you do not pass the posttest, it can be re-taken after fully reviewing the materials again. 

Certificate of CompletionIn order to receive a certificate of completion for each course, you must indicate that you’ve watched the entire video portion of the course, earn a passing grade on the test, and complete the requested course evaluation.

Target Audience: 

Masters and Clinical level licensees pursuing continuing education.

Content Level:

Both beginning and intermediate-level content are included in these courses.

Instructor Bio(s):

Meagan Mitchell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been providing individualized and group instruction for over 5 years.

Meagan is currently a Child and Adolescent Therapist with The Sibley Group in Washington, DC. She is working towards her Play Therapy credential. Meagan is also the founder of Agents of Change Social Work Test Prep – a learning platform and community designed for social workers preparing for their licensing exams.

She loves combining her passion for learning and sharing her knowledge with the social work community. Meagan has a strong interest in tech & and innovation, specifically exploring the intersection of technology with social work practices. She is also passionate about multicultural supervision & and ethics; ensuring diverse voices are heard, understood, and supported in supervision and consultation.

Lastly, Meagan is currently a DSW student at SUNY Buffalo.

Andrew Nett, LCSW

Andrew is a licensed clinical social worker with a demonstrated history working in the mental healthcare industry. He has provided care for in-patient and out-patient settings, and has experience working with children, adults, couples, and groups. Andrew is skilled in treating mental health and substance abuse through a variety of interventions and modalities.

Bringing clinical expertise to the workplace, Andrew currently works for Delta Defense. Providing individual and group coaching to all employees on personal and professional needs. Delta utilizes Andrew as a culture trainer, teaching new employees necessary emotional intelligence skills. Andrew also serves Delta by facilitating sessions with teams to resolve conflict and improve collaboration so the organization can more effectively serve customers.

Andrew is passionate about the symbiotic relationship between organization and employee health. He is driven to help businesses build a strong culture, by prioritizing employee wellness, while reducing costs associated with healthcare, turnover and absenteeism. He knows, regardless of title or experience, we all have human elements that make us susceptible to difficulties. Andrew is committed to helping clients understand themselves and use this awareness to be effective and fulfilled in their lives.
