Different Types of ASWB Test Accommodations
Documented Disabilities:
- Documented disabilities are protected under federal and/or state law and apply to a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activity
- State or provincial social work board and ASWB will cooperate with all applicable federal, state, and local legislation, including the ADA
- Other needs may require nonstandard testing arrangements: Diabetes monitoring, ambulatory arrangements for broken bones, and additional breaks due to pregnancy
English as a Second Language:
- Some state social work boards allow special arrangements for candidates who use English as a second language.
How To Request Accommodations:
- You must receive approval from the ASWB before registering for your licensing exam
- Complete the form found here: https://bit.ly/aswbtesting
- 2 parts: 1 to be completed by you and 1 to be completed by your health care provider or other professional.
- Submit the request to ASWB who will notify you within 2 weeks of whether the requested arrangements are approved, incomplete, or denied.
- Once approved, then you can register to take the exam.
- When your registration is complete, you will receive an Authorization to Test email that specifies the nonstandard testing arrangements you are approved for.
- Schedule your exam with Pearson VUE:
