What is prevention?
Social work services have moved towards a prevention rather than a reaction model. Prevention is used in social work because it can reduce suffering, disease, death, particularly among the most vulnerable citizens
Prevention is defined as actions taken to minimize and eliminate social, psychological, or other conditions known to cause or contribute to physical and emotional illness and sometimes socio-economic problems.
